Why Forte Carbon Fiber Products are Distinct

Tough & Durable
You have peace of mind knowing that your carbon fiber Forte spar or tube is manufacturered using 4-Axis Continuous Fiber Braided Technology. This technology was first developed for military applications requiring super durability; i.e., the ability to withstand local damage and to resist spread of damage.  For example, military helicopter rotor blades are built using this technology and remain intact if shot with a bullet.

Tough, durable Forte spars and tubes therefore can stand up to accidental mishaps, the worst weather conditions and the toughest competitive sailing races.

Affordable
Forte spars and tubes are reasonably priced and a sound investment for your application, due to our cost efficient manufacturing technique.  Forte uses proprietary process control computers to strategically place and braid each carbon fiber strand directly onto a custom engineered mandrel.  The completed spar or tube is then cured and compacted at high temperature.

Most other carbon fiber spar and tube manufacturers use "flat” carbon fiber pre-preg fabric tape or sheet goods, which must be laid, by hand, into a tube shape; this process is labor intensive and costly.  Alternatively, Forte's cost efficient, computer-driven manufacturing technique helps you save money.

Professional Staff Expertise
Forte's professional staff works closely with you, so you can incorporate personal preferences into your custom built spar or tube, based on your needs and application.

Spars: Speed, Ease & Responsiveness
Lightweight carbon fiber Forte spars provide you with greater sail handling ease, responsiveness, and sail carrying capacity than traditional spars made from aluminum.  For example, power created by your sails is directly transferred by your mast to your hull. Softer (i.e., lower modulus) aluminum masts lose some of this power because of bending, flexing and vibration. Due to greater strength and stiffness, a Forte carbon fiber mast immediately and efficiently transforms wind puffs into forward sailing momentum for greater speed cruising and on the racecourse.

For racing dinghies and yachts alike, a Forte spar gives the boat a lower center of gravity than the best aluminum spar, ensuring greater stability and ultimately providing the skipper with greater confidence.

Tubing: Multiple Advantages
Forte tubing is corrosion resistant, an advantage in marine and chemical plant applications. When made with e-glass or Kevlar, Forte tubing is non-conductive and can be used in areas subject to electrical fields or electromagnetic waves.  Fiber orientation, wall thickness and diameter is determined on a case-by-case basis, and manufactured to your
specification, to exactly and cost-efficiently meet your requirements.
