Forte built this set of carbon fiber stanchions for a ship, to create a life-line support system. Each 9'5" post weighs 14 lbs and has a Young's Modulus of 10,600,000 psi. Forte also made the carbon fiber stanchion sockets, which were glassed into the deck of the ship. The slip fit between the two parts was perfect. |
